What is wedding prop hire in Yorkshire?
Wedding prop hire simply means borrowing decorative items, props, for your event, rather than buying them outright. You choose the items you’d like to use, we deliver them to your venue, set them up, and collect them afterwards. It’s a much more cost-effective approach than purchasing everything yourself, and it means you have access to a much wider, higher-quality range of pieces than you’d typically be able to buy.
What kinds of props can I hire?
At Shindig, our prop collection is enormous. Here’s a taste of what we have available:

Chair drapes: available in 30+ colours of chiffon, perfect for ceremony and reception chairs
Charger plates: a range of styles and finishes to elevate your table settings
Candle holders, candlesticks and candelabra: hundreds of options in varying heights, styles and finishes

How does the hire process work?
It’s really straightforward. After your consultation, we put together a fully itemised quote based on the props you’ve chosen. Once you’re happy and ready to book, we hold everything for your date with a 20% deposit. On the day of your wedding, we deliver everything to your venue, set it all up, carry out any turnaround needed during the day and collect everything the morning after. You don’t have to lift a finger.
Do I have to use Shindig’s styling team, or can I just hire the props?
You can absolutely just hire the props if you prefer, we’re completely flexible. Some couples love the idea of styling their own venue, or they have family members who want to get involved. We’re happy to provide a prop-hire-only service in those cases.
That said, most of our clients choose to use our full styling service as well. Having our team there means everything is set up exactly right, you’re not relying on stressed family members on the morning of your wedding, and the overall result is just that little bit more polished. But the choice is entirely yours.
Is there a minimum spend?
No, and we’re really proud of that. We believe every couple deserves a beautifully styled day, whatever their budget. You can hire as little or as much as you like, and we’ll always be honest about what’s achievable for your budget so you can make the best decisions for your day.
Which Yorkshire venues do you work with?
We work with couples across the whole of Yorkshire and beyond. We’re based in Selby so we’re ideally placed for venues across North, East, West and South Yorkshire. We’ve worked in barns, hotels, country houses, marquees, village halls and everything in between. If you’re not sure whether we cover your venue, just ask, we almost certainly do.
